A wrap-up of the Space in 180 project [VIDEO]
On October 22th, 16-year-old Karol Wojsław launched a research probe of his own design into the stratosphere. The young scientist’s project was a great success. Not only has it intrigued a lot of people, but also received considerable media attention. We acted as the official partner of the event and accompanied Karol throughout the project. Our cooperation resulted in two videos that commemorate this exceptional achievement.
The Space in 180 probe was launched into the stratosphere from the Municipal Stadium in Murowana Goślina near Poznań. The load was carried by a weather balloon filled with helium. After a three-hour flight the balloon exploded and the probe it was carrying began to fall to the Earth on a special parachute. During the flight its measurement tools performed tests of the impact of altitude on changes in air temperature, while its cameras recorded a 360-degree video of the Earth. The probe landed in Złotów – about 90 km away from its launch site.
We were there both when the load was launched and when it was recovered. We have created two videos: one presenting a behind-the-scenes look at the event and another showcasing the data collected by the probe. The videos are meant to summarise the project and present all of its stages in a clear and descriptive way.
